My Kingdom for Three More Tour Dates

A particular disappointment I noticed tonight, The Tallest Man on Earth is touring with John Vanderslice on about 100 dates during the month of June.  He notably joins Vanderslice just three days AFTER his appearance at Salt Lake’s Kilby Court on May 28.

How the Julian calendar mocks us.

TTMOE recorded last year’s brilliant and overlooked Shallow Grave.  For all of the Next Big Thing press for Elvis Perkins, Tallest Man really did produce something worthy of Freewheelin’ Dylan comparisons.  Direct and authoritative, Kristian Matsson created a piece of classic Americana despite his home in Sweden.  His guitar playing is a marvel.

Shallow Grave isn’t the easiest CD to track down, available only on Swedish import.   I didn’t get my hands on a copy until a few weeks ago.  The album starts with two inimitable tracks, “I Won’t Be Found” and “Pistol Dreams” and includes another half dozen classics like “The Gardener.”

Wow, three days.  He misses both Kilby Court in Salt Lake and Velour in Provo (Alex!).  Can’t someone book him on a flight just one week earlier?  For those lucky enough to be on the June gauntlet here are the remainder of the Vanderslice, Tallest Man dates:
